When you meet someone for the first time there are numerous normal emotions that you could be feeling. For instance, you could be feeling excited, nervous, anxious, curious, paranoid, scared, or, if you’re lucky, you could just be relaxed. Everyone takes a different approach when they meet someone new, but many people have mixed emotions, the one emotion that I find is normally consistent though, is nervousness. You should note, that this is very common and completely normal reaction.

If you’re not an actor and not used to being in front of a video camera, your first webcam chats can be a little intimidating. The fact that you can see yourself while talking to others, doesn’t help also and you will probably be too self-aware and maybe even a little shy. But there’s really nothing to be afraid of, as the person on the other side probably feels the same way and if you’ll prepare yourself for the meeting, things will go as smoothly as they do in real life.
