Music has always had an important role in society in helping to bring people together or else to express concepts that people can connect with on an emotional level. So with this plethora of resources, it would be nonsensical to actually use all the clichés you wanted in order to break up with your latest fling. Best to save energy and oxygen, and just let the music do the talking. Here are some of the best break-up song that can explain why you are breaking up with that not-so-special someone:

 </ br>

What’s a Girl to Do by Bat For Lashes

This song is a simplistic one. The song describes a relationship that has lost its spark.

The Stinger:

And when he asked me, do you still love me?
I had to look away
I didn’t want to tell him
That my heart grows colder with each day

 </ br>

Goodbye Earl by The Dixie Chicks

You could introduce this song as being a possible ending to your love affair if things don’t change. The menace of homicide is always a legitimate reason to stop going out with someone.

The Stinger:

Ain’t it dark
Wrapped up in that tarp Earl”</blockquote

 </ br>

Should I Stay or Should I Go by The Clash

This song is an ultimatum that is meant to get things back on track. Furthermore, it’s a really upbeat and fun song. You can both dance through the tears!

The Stinger:

You’re happy when I’m on my knees
One day is fine, next day is black
So if you want me off your back
Well come on and let me know
Should I stay or should I go?

 </ br>

Tainted Love by Soft Cell

This relationship is fraught with problems, it will never work out. He doesn’t even want her to touch him: that’s pretty serious levels of disgust. This relationship is officially over.

The Stinger:

Now I know I’ve got to… run away,
I’ve got to… get away.
You don’t really want any more from me.

 </ br>

Not Big by Lily Allen

This song is brutal and very bitter – it is great if you are trying to destroy a guy.

The Stinger:

All the times that I said I was sober,
Well, I’m afraid I lied,
I’d be lying next to you, and you next to me,
All the while I was high as a kite.
I could see it in your face as you break it to me gentle,
Yeah, you really must think you’re great,
Well, let’s see how you feel in a couple of weeks,
When I work my way through your mates.

 </ br>

Its The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) by R.E.M

At first glance this song does not appear to be about breakups at all. However, if you have a flair for the dramatic, this song might be appropriate.

The Stinger:

It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine

 </ br>

Stacy’s Mom by Fountains of Wayne

In order to explain that there is another lady in your heart who may or may not be the maternal figure of your former love interest, this song helps you out by stating clearly why your relationship will not work.

The Stinger:

Stacy can’t you see
You’re just not the girl for me.

 </ br>

Area Codes (Hoes) by Ludacris

If you would like to explain that you cannot be chained down, you should play this one. It shows that you are not prepared to be exclusive. No one can be mad at you about that! You are awesome and you cannot help it, anyone who does not like it is jealous.

The Stinger:

Is it cuz they like my gangsta walk?[gangsta walk]
Is it cuz they like my gangsta talk?[gangsta talk]
Is it cuz they like my handsome face?[handsome face]
Is it cuz they like my gangsta ways?[gangsta ways]

 </ br>

Bad Romance by Lady Gaga

If you would like to explain the destructiveness of your relationship, you can use this one:

The Stinger:

Oh-oh-oooh-oh-oh!
Caught in a bad romance

 </ br>

Take a Bow by Rihanna

It seems as though girls only ever break up when their boyfriend cheats so here are a few songs covering this type of breakup.

The Stinger:

Don’t tell me you’re sorry ’cause you’re not
Baby, when I know you’re only sorry you got caught.

 </ br>

To the Left by Beyoncé

This one is for a more advanced, cohabitational relationship. Now you have to go through the awkward moving day. This song might ease the process, just put it on repeat until the moving truck has taken off.

The Stinger:

So since I’m not your everything
How about I’ll be nothing, nothing at all to you
Baby I won’t shed a tear for you, I won’t lose a wink of sleep
‘Cause the truth of the matter is replacing you is so easy

 </ br>

Carrie Underwood – Before He Cheats

This is for ladies who like to prove a point during the breakup by teaching the other party a lesson they cannot soon forget. This song could serve as an explanation after the fact, or a “How-to” guide on how to trash someone’s vehicle. For a more R’n'B version of this song, Jasmine Sullivan’s “Bust Your Windows” should do the trick.

The Stinger:

I dug my key into the side
Of his pretty little souped-up 4 wheel drive
Carved my name into his leather seat
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights
Slashed a hole in all 4 tires
And maybe next time he’ll think before he cheats

 </ br>

Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace

If you would like to go for the “Werewolf” angle you can use this song, it seems like this is what they are talking about. All you do is tell whomever it is that you are breaking up with that you got bitten by a werewolf and now you don’t want them to be a victim so it is best if you part ways. For tips read Harry Potter, Lupos does it well enough. Of course his girl eventually decides that she wants to help him get through him problems, but no one is like that in real life.

The Stinger:

So what if you can see the darkest side of me
No one will ever change this animal I have become

 </ br>

So, fellow cowards, you can break hearts without expending too much effort and let someone else do the talking by choosing the most appropriate song off the list.

You’re welcome.

Add your faves in the comments!

Friendship can be a difficult thing. Once you’re out on your own in the adult world, it can be tricky to find. And once you do find it, it can be just as tricky to maintain. Between your job, family, and all the other hassles of life, the importance of keeping friendships strong can be forgotten. This includes not only friends from the real world, but also the ones you’ve met in the cyber world. Meeting people online has become a popular way to make friends. The pool of people to choose from is practically limitless, so you don’t have to settle when it comes to who you want to interact with, unlike in the real world when the pool is quite tiny. But if you want these friendship to grow, you need to nurture them in the same way you would in the real world.

There’s so many ways to stay in touch with someone, so what’s the best way? Well…there’s Facebook for starters. Once you friend someone, they pretty much have access to your entire life (or at least the parts that you are willing to post.) They’ll see all your pictures, know the events you are attending, and check out what’s happening in your day to day life. But I don’t know how great Facebook is at maintaining a friendship. Throwing a party, writing comments, and posting humiliating pictures? Sure. A tool for important interactions? Probably less so.

The old standard is MSN messenger. When I was a teenager I used to have endless conversations, usually about nothing, with my friends over MSN. It was the easiest way to socialize with all your friends at once. Of course, when I was a teenager technology wasn’t the same as it is today. Sure, I had a computer with the internet (dial up…ugh), but the computers weren’t paper thin with built in webcams. There were a lot of annoyances to the hardware and the software, and we just had to accept that. Unless you’re a skilled writer (and trust me, most teenagers are not) it is hard to properly convey your tone. The message you send can be completely misinterpreted by your friend and vice versa.

The best way I can think of to create and enjoy online friendships is video chatting. Whether it be 6rounds or another video site or even through the webcam application on the new and improved MSN, it really cuts down the feeling of distance between you and your friend. Maybe it’s not drinks at a bar, but it is better than text on a page. And every day the technology just keeps getting better. On 6rounds, with some Youtube maneuvering, you and your friend can watch movies or television together. You can play games. Or you can just talk.

Friendship is one of the most important aspects of life. Without it, we’d lead a lonely existence. But don’t forget, whether it’s real or cyber, a friendship needs work.

What do you think was the first thing I did when I found out I had landed my first writing job? Jump up and down like I was at the end of a Rocky movie? Okay, yes, but what did I do after that? Call my friends? Call my family? Nope. I posted the news on facebook. Sure, later I called my family and a few of my friends, but without facebook there would’ve been no way to tell everyone I wanted to tell. How would I let my ex-boyfriends know how awesomely I was doing without them? How could I have made my old college classmates jealous? Who would’ve told that member of the family no was has spoken to in years? It would’ve been half the celebration if I couldn’t revel in it a little.

Facebook isn’t just for announcing your wins to the world (although that is one of my favourite features.) It has literally hundreds of applications, and it feels like everyday they are adding new ones, or improving the old ones. The most obvious one is connecting to friends and family all around the world. Where would we be without that connectivity? For one thing, more people would fall out of our lives and more relationships would die without that kind of social media. If a friend moved to Brazil, how would you stay in touch? The phone? Have you seen your phone bill after a few international calls. Emails? Sure, but it’s a pain in the butt to send out emails to everyone you know, and after a while it simply won’t happen. Letters? Lets get serious. With a little effort I’ve been able to able to preserve the relationships that otherwise would’ve died. It wasn’t usually a friend moving out of the country, but a favourite cousin who I rarely get to see, or a classmate who switched schools. Logging onto facebook can be like going to a reunion of all your favourite people.

To be fair, while facebook perfected this type of social media, it didn’t invent it (R.I.P Myspace and the like.) So why do people keep coming back to facebook while similar websites flounder and die? It might be because facebook lets you interact with your friends in a way most websites don’t. I’ll admit I never got the attraction of Farmville. There are some people who would rather set themselves on fire than see their strawberries go bad. That was never me. I was more of a Mafia Wars junkie. Getting money, trading weapons, completing illegal missions, and gaining power was more up my alley. The nice thing about it was that even though you were playing a game, you weren’t doing it in isolation or even with strangers. You got stronger with your real life friends. The best players were the one’s who gave and received grenades and rifles with their contact list. Or, for Farmville fans, traded crops and livestock. Even though you can’t go to the movies with your friend from Brazil, it still feels like you’re apart of each other’s lives.

Day to day internet users all have that their home base. That one website you either have set as your homepage or just automatically enter the URL without thinking about it. For search engine junkies it might be Google, for humour lovers it might be Cracked, for people who work from their computer it might be your email, and for the social butterflies it might be Facebook. It makes sense because these sites offer something daily we want to check out. But like most people, you have more than one site you love to visit everyday. Wouldn’t it be great to have those sites wrapped into one? Well, rounds.com is getting close. Check out these applications that enhance your facebook and 6rounds experience at the same time.

First off, once you register on 6rounds, you can invite all your friends from facebook to join too. Instead of posting on someone’s wall, you can have a face to face conversation with them over your webcam. No need to worry your tone won’t get across in a message, or wondering if your friend stepped away from their computer during a long pause. They are right there talking to you.

6rounds also has a lot of applications you simply can’t get through facebook or a standard webcam chat. You can play a ton of games while still talking to a friend over your cam. Playing chess? Watch your friend sweat as you back his king into a corner. Play truth and dare while making sure your friend actually completes the dare. Or team up to beat a game together. You can also look at the pictures that have been uploaded to facebook while talking together on a webcam. Make fun of your other friends, show them the embarrassing new photo you just tagged them in, or remember how much fun tobogganing was while you are sweating through your T-Shirt.

Once you and your friends are members of 6rounds, make sure to sign up to the facebook page. There you can check out the newest blog posts, see the latest news, see who else is a member, or check out the photo albums. You’ll be sent notices about events that are happening.

If you’re anything like me, setting up a profile for anything can be a pain. Sure you want people to know about you, but what do you say so you don’t come off badly? Just import your account information from facebook. That’s what I did. Check it out. I uploaded the one picture I think I look half decent in (be kind) as my profile picture and imported the rest.

Facebook isn’t the only site you can have fun on while visiting 6rounds. Want to see your friends’ reaction to the newest youtube video? Have a session and youtube together. All your friends on Gmail? Don’t worry, you can add them. 6rounds is adding innovative applications from the most popular sites across the web.

Wasn’t everything so much easier when you were a kid? Sure, you had to go to school and learn useless stuff like math, you had almost no independence, and no control over the basics of your life, like food, hygiene or sleep. But the trade off was that things were ridiculously easy. You didn’t have to work at a soul crushing job, the fridge would always magically fill itself up, there would always be a roof over your head, and, maybe best of all, not once did you ever have to make a conscious effort to make friends. When I was a kid, I don’t even remember how I made my friends. We were in the same class and it was just natural. I never thought about it. I certainly didn’t think about how making friends wouldn’t always be this easy.

What do you do when you’re an adult and find yourself wanting to meet someone? There’s no guidebook on how to make friends as an adult. Once you’re out of school you lose that forced socialization. There’s work, but that’s a small pool of people to choose from. And what about finding a romantic relationship? What about the bar scene isn’t humiliating and often regrettable? It’s funny to think that not too long ago you had very few options. Thanks to the internet, no one ever has to be alone again.

Dating sites are a God send. Before the internet, unless your friends happened to know your soul mate and future spouse, the options weren’t great. Has anyone fallen into a serious relationship at a bar or club? A lot of things have happened to me while I was out drinking. Some of them were amazing, some of them I’ve purposely blocked from my memory, none of them were the beginning of something special with someone special. I gave up on that delusion long ago. I’ve seen the wonder of dating sites. My personal favorite is Plenty of Fish. From the comfort of your home you get to check out profiles and connect with people. You get to meet people you might be interested in while sober and taking it at your own pace. I haven’t met my soul mate on a dating site yet, but I have made far more meaningful connections than I ever did over a shot of tequila.

Of course, that’s all well and good for people who want a boyfriend or girlfriend. But when you get back to the original problem, making friends without the luxury of recess, a dating site is a roundabout way to do it. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t easy ways to make friends online. The most obvious one would be facebook. That seems kind of dumb at first glance, doesn’t it? The only people you interact with on facebook are already your friends. But are they really? Go through your friends list and try to remember how many of these people you’ve actually interacted with in real life lately. Now figure out how many you would want to actually interact with and how many might want to interact with you. I guarantee you could find a few “friends” to turn into friends.

Alright, maybe facebook isn’t going to work, since you hate everyone on your contact list and they hate you. So where do you turn to now? Literally anywhere. Google “connect with people” or “make friends,” and you’ll have more choices than you know what to do with. It may take a little work, as building a meaningful relationship always does, but it will happen. Just be yourself, be honest, try to be interesting and it will happen. Soon enough it will be like you were a kid and you’ve forgotten how your friends slid so easily into your life.

Making friends, whether face-to-face, or online, is never an easy thing to do. It is however one of the fun and interesting things we get to do on a daily basis. As far as making online friends goes, there are numerous ways to connect with people over the internet. Social networking sites are by far the most widely used means of making online friends today.

The first step is fast and easy. You need to sign up on a social networking site where you will be required to create a profile. The profile details your personal interests, opinions on religion and politics, plus other personal details that you are comfortable to divulge. Now you are good to go. Start inviting people you know, and even those you do not know, and begin to indulge in the fun together.

The profile is the means through which people will get to know who you are. It is a fundamental requirement for making friends online. As you look for people with whom you share interests, your profile will draw similar people to you. You will then make friends this way. Aside from looking into people’s profiles, you can also join groups that have an agenda that is of interest to you. From such groups, you will look into members’ profiles and add them into your friends list as you please. Forming your own group is another great way to meet online friends with whom you share common interests.

Online communication has moved from just chatting to having live interactions, thanks to technological advances such as webcams. The great thing is that it is free to sign up to chat rooms. Get your webcam and start making video, audio and text chats with your friends.

So you do not have a web cam? Not to worry, as you can still engage in video chats on numerous websites. The sites have a program that generates a webcam broadcast for you that has the exact same effects including motion. Video chats allow you to not only make friends online, but also engage in a variety of interesting activities together, live. These include playing games together such as chess and checkers. The interaction is so real that you are able to see and follow every activity your friends engage in.

Webcam chats offer endless entertainment. You get to explore many exciting features that allow you to create interesting effects on your image, voice and background. Part of the interaction with your online friends will also include sharing information, photos and videos.

To make lasting bonds online requires constant communication with your online friends. You should post regular comments, not only on your profile, but also on the profiles of your friends. Share your opinions, on a regular basis too, on the groups and forums of which you are a member. This will enable you to keep meeting new friends and solidify your already established contacts. At the end of the day, you will have made friends with whom you can share lots of entertainment, and from whom you will learn a lot in the process.

Tell us how you make friends and stay connected with them online. Share your story in the comments section below.

Today’s technological advances have made online communication a lot more thrilling, and easy too. All it takes is access to a computer, and you get to communicate with your old friends whilst you also make new ones. With the middle of 2010 approaching, so much more is expected as far as technology goes. Now is the time to embrace the available opportunities to make new friends online.

Numerous social networking sites out there are assisting in meeting online friends for dating or for plain networking. To meet someone new this year, all you have to do is sign yourself up to a social networking site and start making friends instantly. Your first step will be to find a secure website. Sign up and create a profile that details your interests as far as entertainment is concerned. This includes your favorite music, TV shows, movies and books as well. Be careful not to give away personal details concerning your credit card and social security numbers. Start inviting friends who have similar interests as you and add them to your friends list.

Online communication facilitates new friendships as well as rekindling old ones. There is a lot to be gained from meeting new people. As well as keeping in touch with your old friends, you also get to learn a lot from people from other parts of the world.

Making new friends is one of life’s richest experiences. As opposed to earlier on, when face-to-face meetings were the ideal way to meet new people, it is a whole lot different now, and it is to our advantage. You do not have to go to great lengths to find people who are interested in your hobbies, passions and in what you do. Online is where you find a large number of them and some will even find you. People subscribe to networking sites for a variety of reasons. It could be plain networking, making contacts to expand their business, or even for dating. The good news is that all of these goals are met adequately online. You should therefore embrace the opportunities available to meet someone new this year.

Your profile is the basic tool that you will need to attract people with similar interests. However, you will have to do a little more to add more friends to your friends list. Join groups and forums on your social networking site. Join groups that share your interests, and become friends with other members. Be sure to check their profiles first to confirm that you really want to be friends with them. At the same time, you can start groups yourself and invite people to join, and then you can add them to your friends list as well.

Interacting with new people online will help you to learn many new things from them in the course of sharing opinions. There are all sorts of people online, and experts in different fields will provide you with wider knowledge as you also share your own knowledge in your field of expertise. Meeting people online creates a give and take forum where everybody benefits. Besides, it is a great passtime where you will chat away with friends, share photos and videos as well as monitor what your friends are up to on a daily basis. Making friends online is a rich and easy experience and you have no excuse for not meeting someone new and interesting this year.

Meeting new friends online is now as easy as a button click. Internet chat rooms, YouTube and social networking sites have brought people together from all over the world. They offer long time friends and schoolmates a chance to reconnect as well as an opportunity to meet strangers with whom they have common interests.

Chatting with friends online has become a great entertainment platform. Besides chatting, you can also YouTube together with your friends and have a great time. To have access to these amazing forms of entertainment you first have to sign up to the social networking site of your choice. The next thing to do is to create an interesting profile. The profile will attract people with similar interests as well as your old friends from school or your old neighborhood. It is better to make online bonds with people that you share similar interests.

Entertainment is the main interest of others that want to make new friends online, so it’s refreshing to be able to friends chat and YouTube together in the process. It is the same for many people who you will meet online using these two amazing aspects of online entertainment. The fun gets more exciting when you get to follow up on your friends’ daily activities as well as share videos and photos. You get to share all kinds of information with friends and watch a whole lot of entertaining and even educational videos on YouTube together. Sharing a funny moment with your friends is definitely a lot more fun than it would be watching the videos by yourself.

As you chat and YouTube together with friends, you get to establish online bonds based on similar interests and goals. Besides entertainment, your goal may be to establish new contacts for business purposes. It all comes down to finding people who share your passion and interests. In addition, YouTube has become an interesting tool used in conference halls to break the ice during meetings. Starting with a funny video sets a relaxed mood for the discussion ahead. Besides, the videos are readily accessible and all you have to do is log on to YouTube and play a video of your choice.

Face to face meetings although still vital are being rendered obsolete by technology. You no longer have to meet up with your friends to know how they have been doing. In any case, there’s hardly enough time for such meetings any more. Instead, everybody is online chatting and sharing on YouTube and that is how people are keeping in touch. If you are not chatting with friends online, you are missing out not just on technology and entertainment but also on sharing your life with that of your friends.

When friends chat together, they are able to maintain bonds that would otherwise be destroyed by the lack of time to catch up on each other. Besides, these two online means of communication open up opportunities to meet and learn from people, from all over the world. You can establish contacts not just for entertainment purposes but also to get a chance to educate yourself about different people from different parts of the world. The world is fast becoming a global village and the more we are educated about this the better we will be.

Come on, share your thoughts on the subject in the comments below.

The year 2010 comes with a world of opportunities to help you make friends online. The number of online social networking sites available is overwhelming. From 6rounds, MySpace, Facebook and Twitter to Flickr and YouTube, the opportunity to create lasting bonds online becomes endless.

It really is simple to make friends online in 2010. All you need to do, is start by joining any of the many social networking sites. You will need to create a striking profile about yourself and include your interests in music, movies and TV shows as well as books. You can also express your opinion on religion and politics.

The profile is the means through which you can attract friends that have similar interests to you. Invite your old friends on the sites as well as new friends to join you. The fun begins here. There is a load of interesting activities to engage in on such sites with your online friends. Besides following their activities on a daily basis, you will share photos, videos and opinions. You will also get to comment on each other’s profile posts.

Entertainment is one of the biggest reasons why people sign up to social networking sites. As you keep in touch with your old and new friends, you will be entertaining each other in the process. With today’s technology, the amount of entertainment you will get from these sites is nothing but thrilling. Some of this technology is available on sites that offer free webcam chats. The chats are one on one with your friends on the site and you can engage in games, share photos and videos. All the while, you will be interacting live and it does not get any more real than this regardless of how far your friends are in relation to you.

Every aspect of the social networking sites allows you to meet and interact with new people. You should explore all features available on the sites. Such features include groups and forums. Look for groups whose members share your interests and champion a cause that is of interest to you. You can also form a group and invite people to join in. You will then access the profiles of the members of your group and add them to your friends list.

Making online friends also provides a chance for learning a lot. In the groups and forums, you will share opinions and knowledge with other members through the various discussions. You will also get to learn about other people, their way of life and their culture. This is why it is important that after joining groups and forums, you post comments and opinions constantly to keep up to date with friends on the same groups and forums.

Today, online communication is undisputedly the busiest place where people are meeting and establishing friendships whether it is just for entertainment or with people in their line of profession. The year 2010 will not be any different. If anything, the technology gets better everyday as better ways of making online contacts gets introduced. There is no reason why you should not join the bandwagon and start making yourself some online friends this year.

Once people answer you, it’s really easy to continue the talk if you just listen to their little cues about what they’re passionate about talking and what they’re not. Starting to talk to new people is not easy, but it’s always fun. Don’t be shy – give it a go today!

Do you have any other good conversation starters you’d like to share? Write them in the comments below.

It took me 6 years to finish my B.A. degree. That’s 2 or 3 years more than most people study (depending on the country and what they’re studying of course). Often times I joke that after studying for so many years I could have been a doctor by now. Lucky for me, I was young when I started, I finished high-school early, and started college at age 15. I did 3 years at community college, finished my A.S. and then had to restart when I began at a private college, one that I studied at for 3 years.

I don’t know about you guys, but I had to work my way through college, in fact, most of my days consisted of only 2 things, studying and working. I wouldn’t change it for anything, and I appreciate all that it taught me, but I can think back now and realize that there were some ways that life could have been a lot easier for me. For example, when you’re working 40 hours a week, and studying full-time, where do you fit in the time to meet people for study sessions and group projects, I mean I barely had time to eat or sleep?

I remember in my last year of studies that out of 10 classes, I think 6 of them involved papers or projects with another person. On top of that, there were a couple of classes (maths in particular) that I wasn’t at all good at, and needed help with. So regardless of how far these people lived from me, I had to not only find time to meet them, but also take into consideration travel time and expenses.

What I really could have used during those 6 years of studies, was somewhere where I could have met my study partner online, a virtual environment where my partner and I could have done research online together, browsed through videos and content together, and even written and edited documents together, all whilst both looking at exactly the same screen. With something like that I could have even been tutored online. The amount of time and money I would have saved from this is crazy.

Although I wasn’t lucky enough to have encountered something with such capabilities during my studies, you are obviously more fortunate. In the last few years we see incredible advancements with online video chatting and collaboration. It’s really easy now to talk and study with your friends while you’re in the comfort of your own home.

There are of course many ways to do it now, but I suggest you give 6rounds free web cam video chat a shot. It’s really easy to get started with it and you can also invite your classmates to do the same, so next time you’re having troubles with some unsolved mathematical equation, just take a short round with your friend and take the pressure of your back.

It’s Free
Meeting friends or having a date at a coffee shop, bar or pub all cost money. On 6rounds you can meet lots of people and you don’t have to pay anything for it.

Dressing is Optional
You don’t have to get dressed in order to speak with someone – although we do recommend you put at least a shirt on, you don’t really need to get dressed up, you can be comfortable and homey, stay in your pajamas and meet people at the same time.

No One Can Smell You
You don’t need to brush your teeth or put on perfume.
I don’t think I need to elaborate on this one…

Do it Anywhere
It doesn’t matter where you are as you can make your own environment – as long as you have a portable computer and an Internet connection you’re good to go! In your bedroom, living room, lunch break at work, at a coffee shop in the middle of town – you can meet and greet anywhere.

Do it Anytime
You can do it anytime – the great thing about meeting people from around the world is exactly that, they are around the world and thus on different time zones to you, meaning whenever you feel up to meeting someone new, there’s always someone there, awake, ready and waiting.

Enjoy your ADD
Meeting people online, takes little time… I’m not gonna compare this to dating, as we are all here to meet new people and not necessarily date, but where else would you be able to meet so many people in such a small amount of time (did I mention there’s no travel time either?).

Be Someone Else
When meeting new people online, you can take different rules upon yourself and act differently every time. Wear a hat, try that necklace you always wanted, change your hair style. Do something funny, do something unique, do anything. Carpe Diem.

Diversify
When you’re on a website like ours, you know that people are there to meet people. This removes some of the anxiety you may normally feel. Furthermore, you have more people to choose from and you can pick whom you wish to speak to. If you don’t want to speak to someone, you don’t have to. Unlike many other places, the choice is yours and it’s really easy.

What do you think about meeting people online? Is it better than meeting people offline?
Share your thoughts with us in the comments below, we’d love to hear them.

Have you ever wanted to go and see a movie with your friend but just couldn’t decide what to see?

“No! you pick!” , “NO!, you pick!”, is generally how the conversation goes. That’s how the preparations for movie nights for my boyfriend and me used to sound. I know you know what I’m talking about. Even when you’re about to go over to a friend’s house and you need to download something, this indecisiveness can occur.

Normally one person knows the movie and the other doesn’t, so you have to explain about the movie, tell them how to spell it, and describe each of the actors, because you most likely don’t remember all their names, and then finally after about 20 minutes, your friend gets it and decides it’s not their cup of tea!

Isn’t there any easier way than wasting all this time?
Well yes, indeed there is!

Today, my friend called me whilst I was at work. She asked me if I wanted to catch a movie once I got off. Of course I did, as I love going to the cinema. So, of course, she tells me to pick the movie…

Now, although I love going to the movies, I don’t always keep track of what’s on in the cinema, and I generally flip through the commercials on TV. So what happens? I go to the cinema’s website, I look over the show times, and I feel as though I’m looking at movies from another planet because I don’t recognize any of them. I call her and tell her my dilemma, and she replies by expressing the same problem.

So what now? Well thank G-d for 6rounds.

By this point, I already knew all the names of the movies that are out, so we went to 6rounds, and I started up the YouTube activity. I searched for each of the movies, and we watched all of the trailers together, and then, we decided together. Nifty huh? And it only took us a couple of minutes.

Next time you are going out to watch a movie with a friend, why don’t you save yourselves time, and watch the trailers on 6rounds before you book?

Being in a relationship is tricky when you live close to one another, but living apart and being in a long distance relationship is even harder. How do you maintain the same sense of connectivity as when you are together? That is the factor that defines many long-distance relationship break-ups’. Of course physical interaction is important but when both parties have accepted that it’s not the main thing on the agenda, what’s left? Well, it’s the means of communication differentiating feeling connected and feeling the void of the distance.

Seeing each other every couple of weeks or months can be heartbreaking sometimes and the occasional phone call never quite seems to do the trick. Lucky for us though, today, with the Internet being a major part of all our lives, it is easier to stay connected. But with all these different means of communication, is staying connected and actually feeling connected becoming the new obstacle?

So yeah, there is Skype and other ways to communicate by video chat, but the truth is, with today’s technology that’s not enough anymore. 6rounds gives couples a way to not only communicate online but also interact and really stay connected. The ability to watch movies together and see each-others reactions, play games in real time and something as simple as Facebooking together is a different level of connectivity that you just can’t get anywhere else. To be honest, 6rounds is not only giving couples a way to feel more connected to one another but it’s also challenging couples by allowing them to find new and creative ways to be romantic online.

If you are in a long-distance relationship and you want to share your thoughts and feedback with 6rounds, please fill in your comments below. We’d love to hear you stories!

Let’s face it, moving is a hassle, regardless of whether it’s down the block or 10 minutes a way, it’s a big pain. But when we have to relocate to a completely unfamiliar place, where do we start? What do we do? Who do we contact?

I myself have moved countries 3 times. Although each move was in a different stage in my life there are some general fearful factors that are always constant. Those factors could have always been resolved by preparation. Luckily today, we have the technology and the knowhow to prepare ourselves before we relocate, to have all our questions and concerns answered by people we know, people that we can relate to and people who’s opinion we would believe over a phonebook ad.

I’m not saying of course, that the following 8 tips will magically take away all the stress and worry that come before relocation, but they will definitely however, relieve some of the anxiety you may be feeling before you relocate. Just go over to 6rounds and try the following:

1. Make new friends before you arrive – just search for people from the area you are relocating to, define the age group you are looking for and start making new friends.

2. Find the best places to go out – while rounding with someone you met from the previous tip, ask them to show you YouTube videos of great places to visit. This way you can start familiarizing yourself with the area.

3. Find a place to live – once you learn about the different areas, ask your new found friends if they or anyone else they know have a place to rent/buy. You’ll be surprised on how they’ll be happy to help.

4. Meet a roommate for your future place – if you’re looking, you can also ask your 6round friends if they or anyone they know needs a roommate. There are plenty of good people around, you just need to search for them.

5. Ask people about the standard of living – feel free to ask the people you meet what the cost of living is, maybe they can help you understand your budgetary needs.

6. Get recommendations for services in your area – besides finding out the best places to go out, you will need to know the best places to buy your products and the most efficient means of services. Here’s a list of services you’ll need for starters: real-estate agent, moving company, accountant, dentist, doctor, well the list goes on and on.

7. Stay connected to your friends and family no matter where you go – for me this is the most important. No matter how far away you move you’ll be able to stay in touch and feel connected with 6rounds.

8. Reduce Culture Shock, investigate the basics – so by now we know where to go, which services to use, and where not to buy our products. We’ve made some new friends that are awaiting our arrival, so what’s next? Preparing ourselves for what we’re getting into: what are the crime stats? How’s the climate? what’s the transportation like? Are the taxes high?

So now that you have these 8 handy tips, I believe you’re on your way to an easier relocation. I hope they have helped you find your way. Remember, we’re here to help and our community makes those 6 degrees of separation smaller, so use us, abuse us and we’ll see you around on 6rounds!

Until just a few short years ago, I wasn’t very sociable. I wouldn’t have considered my self a loner and I always had people around me but I definitely wasn’t as outgoing as I am today. I don’t really know what changed in me. I’m not sure if it was because I just grew up, or I gained more confidence or if I just became indifferent to what other people thought of me.

Either way, today I’m not as timid as I used to be, and I find it a lot easier to approach people. Because I understand and have experienced both sides of the fence, I can understand why people are reluctant to approach new people. I agree with what many people say, that it is our fear of rejection that holds us back. The reason I think the internet has become so popular is because it kind of acts like a cushion that reduces the impact of the other persons response. It makes us more relaxed and less afraid of the other persons reactions.

So with all of our technology and all of the aids we have within reach, why do some of my friends still find it hard to meet new people? OK, so many of them just aren’t that interested in it so much so they don’t really put themselves out there. Others are geeky and are socially awkward and as soon as someone new comes along they clam up and retreat into their shell. And then there are others, those (like some of my geeky friends), that really do want to meet new people and just don’t know where to start, what to say and what to do.

There are many social networks for dating, and also those for people that are already friends, but what we have designed here at 6rounds is a platform for people who aren’t friends to become connected with one another. A place where we help you to interact with other members of our community based on common interests. 6rounds isn’t a pick-up bar, it’s a place to meet new friends but also to stay connected with your old ones.

With that said, here are the top 3 ways to meet new people on 6rounds:

1. Search through the users – you can filter your search according to location, gender, online/offline, age, and what they’re here for.

2.Befriend someone – invite them to be your friend, send them a message and start a one-on-one video chat with them.

3. Join a round – we have different types of rounds you can join: activity, game, topic, or general (HINT: Ii you’re in a 1 on 1 round with someone, the TIP button can help you break the ice).

Just remember, people on 6rounds are here to meet new people so stop being shy and start making some new friends. Everyone is waiting for you :)

I’m assuming that not everyone in the world knows what Twitter is, and those that aren’t aware of it aren’t following us. With this being said, I thought I’d give a brief intro describing what Twitter is, so you all can start following 6rounds :)

According to Wikipedia, “Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author’s profile page and delivered to the author’s subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access.”

So what does all of this really mean and why oh why should I care? Well that was what I thought to myself when I first heard about Twitter. Over the past couple of months however, I’ve really been getting into it, and moreover I’m understanding how and why Twitter is changing the landscape of how people interact with each other.

So how do people use twitter? Well there are many ways but I’m going to differentiate between them by dividing them into two categories:

1. For Personal Use: to communicate with friends and family, for personal branding, to look for jobs, to update friends, to read news, to make new friends, to network, and to socialize.

2. For Business Use: for branding, to advertise vacant positions, to communicate with customers, to spread the word about something, for press releases distribution, to provide live coverage on events and to notify customers.

Once you have an account you can bring in your friends by importing your e-mail contact list. Basically what you do is find people that you wish to follow. Following someone will allow you to see updates of what they write, when they write it. For me, I follow friends, News, Businesses and really anything that I find interesting and want to read about.

What you need to know when you’re writing your own tweet is that when you’re referring to another user you put an @ sign before the username and if you are referring to a subject or a trend you put a # before, here are a few examples:

Hey @6rounds, you rock!

@6rounds I love your interactive video experience :)

I had a great chat with @ReadyToShine on @6rounds #videochat #cool.

Yo, @ReadyToShine, meet you at #Starbucks in 20mins…

After you’ve signed up to Twitter, check out 6rounds account and follow us there. We tweet about blog posts that have been published, interesting things we find, cool people we meet, publish our press releases and basically interact with the Twitter world. It’s a lot of fun and we love meeting new people so be sure to follow us.
