However if it comes out at a bar or club, or if it plays on the radio you will definitely begin swinging and dancing along – even mouthing the words! Why is it that though you enjoy these songs you don’t keep them amongst your favourites? The very nature of guilty pleasure songs are shrouded in mystery but, like the bad boy in high school, you enjoy the sense of danger they bring, with all the melodrama, the relatable banality of the lyrics, the fun upbeat melody. You’re too “hip” to be into this, but somehow that hook gets you mouthing the words and before you know it, you and all your friends are belting out the chorus.
