When it comes to Twitter and people of note, there comes a point where slip-ups are just not allowed or else taunting will ensue throughout the media. Since we had so much fun with the last one, we decided to create another list of crazy tweets. While some are satirical, others completely genuine.
Actors are great at creating news identities for themselves. However there comes a point when you begin to stretch the truth a little and this can be seen most clearly by the adults who are often portraying teenagers on television. Not only is it disheartening for teenagers to see glossy grown-up, lithe and beautiful examples of what they should be, but they also get the impression that that is what the ideal teenager looks like. When the chiselled body boy or long legged girl turns out to be a 25 year old, it’s hard for them to portray a teenager physically. Plus, it can’t be fun for the actors to still be stuck in high school after all that time.
Man’s best friend often has a high price to pay for the comfort they get from us by the sheer power of adorableness that they exude. However, sometimes the price is just too high – almost to the point of being cruel. What pet owners find to be cute, silly, picture-perfect or just good fun can sometimes border on abuse but mostly just end up being annoying for the pet or at least a disappointment in their caretaker. And who can blame them? While we are being slightly sarcastic, there’s still little dignity in some of these situations.
Fairytales have a romantic innocence associated with them due to the fact that they are told to children before bed so as to help them conjure wonderful dreams and develop a healthy conscience having learned lessons from these stories. Television has a funny way of making detestable people like Michael Scott, Sheldon Cooper or Jenna Maroney into people that you spend time with once a week. Were they real life characters, you would avoid them like the plague. Still, at least we know that they are meant to be annoying. However what about those television characters who we are supposed to bond with? Is the magic of television and a character’s entertainment value getting in the way of our being able to see them clearly? Would you want to hang out with all your favourite television characters in real life? We’ve thought about it and the answer is: probably not.
