Ah, the red carpet. The awards show. The beauty pageant. Live television. Zillions of dollars in hair, make-up, stretchy fabric and Spanx parade past flashing cameras, screaming paparazzi and weepy fans. This is your moment! You’re a star!

For those of us at home spilling potato chips down our shirts, watching celebrities on live TV is exciting because we get to see who looks good and who looks bad. It’s also exciting because if we’re lucky, we’ll catch someone who does something really, really embarrassing.

1. Beverly Hills, 9-0-2-1-Uh-Oh

The lovely AnnaLynne McCord, star of the CW’s 90210, was having a good time flashing Blue Steel on a red carpet, when all of a sudden her stilettos slipped.

In this clip, the bizarre Gary Busey gives a red carpet reporter some very uh, evasive answers to standard fluff questions like “What are you up to?”
 

 

3. Hi, I’m Tara Reid, serious actress, please meet my naked breast.

 
This happened a few years ago, but I still cringe every time I come across it. Tara Reid’s slippery dress slipped right off her shoulder, exposing her braless boob. Poor thing, she stood there posing for at least 15 seconds before a publicist swooped in and tucked the boob back in its place.

5. Another reason not to go braless on live TV

I can just imagine British TV host Judy Finnigan getting dressed for this awards show. “I’m going to wear a black tuxedo jacket,” she probably told her husband. “Without a camisole underneath! They’ll think I’m so edgy and chic.”

Oh, Judy, it would have been really edgy and chic to ditch not only the shirt but also the bra, but fortunately for you and millions of television viewers, you did not.
 

 
I feel quite embarrassed looking at this one though. It’s not just because she’s a respectable-looking middle-aged woman, but also because she was standing there looking so pleased to be on stage; meanwhile the guy next to her had realized what had happened, as had the HUNDREDS of people in the audience, and the time just draaaaaagged on until a producer leaped on stage and covered her up. A bad dream, basically.
 

6. “Hi, I’m MISS USA and I just FELL ON MY ASS.”

Miss USA Rachel Smith slipped and fell right on her butt during the Miss Universe competition.
 

It’s embarrassing, sure, but why couldn’t she at least acknowledge it with a laugh or a shrug or something? It’s kind of creepy how she stands up right away with no reaction. Her smile doesn’t even wrinkle.
 

7. Another reason why you shouldn’t try to get fancy with your sarong removal.

More beauty pageant trauma-rama. Poor Miss Guarico was strutting her stuff during the swimsuit portion of the Miss Venezuela pageant when she had the most embarrassing moment of her life.
 

 
Ladies, if you’re going to wear string bikinis on the runway, you have got to tie a double knot! Duh.

I can imagine how it must feel to be tottering down the runway in teensy heels and a long dress, praying that you don’t trip. For actress Carmen Electra, however, it appears she cut her prayers short.

Actress Katherine Heigl was accepting an award at the ShoWest Awards and whoops! her dress came undone. No, she wasn’t wearing a bra. And no, the video is not on YouTube anymore. You pervs will have to just go Google it yourself.
 

 

11. Losing your pants

In 2004, Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins tripped on the bottom of her dress during a televised fashion show. Luckily, she was wearing underwear, though, naturally, it was a thong. Also, she was only midway down the runway. With her ass facing the cameras.
 

 
It’s one thing to lose your shirt or have a boob pop out, but what do you do when you lose your pants? I mean, if you can’t get them back on quick enough, you more or less have to make a run for it, don’t you? In my nightmares I usually jump in a swimming pool, but if there’s one not available, the only thing to do is to run away like an idiot, making an already embarrassing situation even more goofy looking.
