Are you familiar with the fine art of photobombing? Photobombing, the practice of getting in someone else’s photograph and “ruining” it, is more difficult than it seems. You’ve got to time your entry into the frame carefully, and exit before the photographer realizes and can retake or delete the shot.
But what about videobombing?
The pranks featured on Japanese TV shows are infamous for being outrageous and even a little frightening. Generally they are downright absurd.
The ones I’ve included her are funny because they all feature something so impossible-seeming, that it’s easy to see why the prank victims often seem clueless about the fact that they’ve just been pranked. Imagine you’re walking down the street alone, and suddenly 300 strangers surround you, screaming. You’d obst start screaming as well? Or if you’re using the stall in a public restroom one day and suddenly find yourself ejected out into the street with your pants around your ankles — what do you think would go through your mind? Would you even think you’d just been pranked? I don’t think so, I think the only question you’d be asking would be: Did that just really happen?
I once made a 30 second stop-motion film with my webcam. It took approximately 6 hours to film and edit and at the end, it just looked like a bunch of pillows were hopping around on my bed like popcorn (I had envisioned them ‘dancing’). So needless to say, I know that good stop-motion animation is ridiculously pain-staking, tedious work, that requires lots of patience and creativity.
